Cover Bushes Shrubs CHEAP Protection

Cover Bushes n Shrubs CHEAP Winter Protection: Winter weather can play havoc on ornamental shrubs and bushes. Protection from snow , ice, and freezing wind, is almost a necessity in northern areas. Save costly winter damage, and growing time with this simple and cheap method to cover bushes, shrubs and other landscape plantings. This is not wrapping, and is my original, natural and renewable solution to winter weather protection. Using relatively cheap garden fencing, or construction wire as I call it, I show you how to fabricate a winter cover for bushes, shrubs and other small ornamental trees. The wire mesh becomes a light weight frame, with spaces to insert evergreen bows and branches to form a sort of thatch roof style cover for the plantings. Here I am using hemlock tree branches, which are plentiful in the north east and cheap. Anyone who has been in the woods after a deep snow fall will notice how much less snow is under this type of evergreen tree. I will use this phenomenon of mother nature for the winter protection of my landscape bushes by using what other wise would be in the spring brush pile, instead making an all natural cover. This can be scaled up for larger plantings, or small trees by making a “Tee Pee” from the branches. = Digg ThisAdd To Del.icio.us Add To Furl Add To Reddit Fav This With Technorati Add To Yahoo MyWeb Add To Newsvine Add To Google Bookmarks Add To Bloglines Add To Ask Add To Windows Live Add To Slashdot Stumble This =
