sears Suburban plowing snow

Sears suburban garden tractor/lawn mower plowing deep snow in New England 2013. The 1972 sears suburban tractor built heavy to pull ground engagement attachments on the rear, carries a 48" snow/dozer blade and plows snow for winter duty while the garden sits idle. The February blizzard of 2013 wont be matched by this storm of December 15 here in new hampshire but the foot plus of snow is more than enough to remind anyone we live in the north east. With a 16hp Briggs and Stratton engine, my faithful sears suburban tractor plows this snow with ease. The tractor has 184lbs of wheel weights and 140lbs of added cast iron to the rear of the tractor in true farm built fashion. This tractor was of the ss suburban tractor models and has the wide 23" rear wheels and 2 link tire chains with 3 rib tires on the front. I dont believe you can by a garden tractor of this class today that will push up the snow bankings like this antique ss15 This old engine uses little more than a gallon of gas plowing snow from a driveway that is more than a quarter mile long and clears 6000sq feet in front of the doors. Here is some close up footage of my tractor piling the snow high in anticipation of continuing new england snow fall. Running at less than 2000 rpm keeps my battery charging and fuel use low and is more than enough power to plow snow, break parts or get stuck, which rarely happens,i might add. ;) = Digg ThisAdd To Del.icio.us Add To Furl Add To Reddit Fav This With Technorati Add To Yahoo MyWeb Add To Newsvine Add To Google Bookmarks Add To Bloglines Add To Ask Add To Windows Live Add To Slashdot Stumble This =
